Dear Amazing new pen pal,

I am writing this because I want to know more about you.

My name is Lina. I am 10 years old and I live in Ottawa,Ontario,Canada. How old are you? My birthday is August 29th.

I have 3 people in my family,my mom who is Korean, my dad who is from St.John’s, Newfoundland and me.

I like to play games with my dad and watch tv with him.Do you have any brothers or sisters.Do you have any pets?

I don’t have any have pets.

I go to St.Rita school. I have many friends Mariam(my BFF), Anna, Alivia Teana, Mariceli, Alessia, Maia, Sabrina, Andrea, Nevia, Julia.I and Julia.k(also my BFF.)

Who are your friends. Do you have a crush on a boy/girl. I like candy and mangoes. I like to dance and play volleyball.Do you like to play volleyball or dance?

Do you have a favourite food(s). Personally I hate pudding,Jello,hot chocolate and custard.What do you hate.

The most precious things I have are my cameras and my tablet.The most percious people are my parents and my grandparents I love them alot.My favourite songs are by Taylor Swift.Do you like Taylor Swift.So far the newest is Wildest Dreams.It’s a pretty awesome song.What are your favourite songs.I also like Shawn Mendes and Sabrina Carpenter. I think that Taylor Lautner is hot !! Do you have a celebrity crush.At my school I’m in choir.My choir teachers are Mme.Frangione and Mrs.Morrone.  Are you in a school club? Last year I was in drama production called “We are monsters.” It was about these 4 humans finding a monster cabaret and 1 of the humans was looking for Oozy Lumpa (Katie). Have you been in a school play? I was also in eco squad. I’ve been to Vancouver,Gatineau,Lac Phillip,South Korea(Jeju Island,Suwon,Seoul and places I don’t remember anymore because I’ve been to a bunch of places in Korea.) Where have you been to? I like my hair down but sometimes it gets all knotty so I have to put it up. My hair is brown and my eyes are brown but they are really dark like my hair. My hair is really long and I need a lot of shampoo. My favourite animal is the Hector’s Dolphin and the Kiwi bird. I think they are really cute. I wish I lived a aquarium.So I could see a Hector’s Dolphin everyday. But I just don’t know what they eat. Do you know? I like rugby too. Do you like rugby? If you don”t know by now I’m a girl. Obviously. I was wondering if you have marmite/vegemite in New Zealand. I like to go to my aunt’s house to play with my cousins (Katie,Gregory,Isaac,Anthony,Nicholas,Lucas,Timothy and Rosie.) But Katie and Gregory don’t live with my aunt anymore. When I have free time I like to text people and video chat with them. I like to video chat with Julia K. and Mariam and Teana. I like to eat candy while I text them. I like to shop at Ivviva and Joe fresh. Where do you buy your clothes? Do you guys have Starbucks where you live? I love to drink the double chocolate frappuccino. I also like their cookies and cake pops. My favourite word is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It’s from Mary Poppins. What’s your favourite word? I also like Sound of music. Did you know that Julie Andrews played Mary Poppins and Baronin Maria Von Trapp. What are your favourite movies. My favourite t.v. shows are Game shakers and Bella and the bulldogs. What are your favourite shows? My friends are from many different countries, like Egypt, Poland, Italy, Africa,  Scotland, Ireland, France, Lebanon, Ukraine and more. Now about Fish in a tree.My favourite character is Suki because she could be shy but always nice and kind. Who is your favourite character? Like Albert Einstein always says “If you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree,it will live its whole life thinking that it’s stupid.” Now back to you. What is your favourite colour? Mine are teal,blue,turquoise and mint.

I think one day I will grow up to be professional volleyball player. What do you want to be?

Now I hate to say I have to go soon but I have a closing so here it goes:Sometimes you could be like Shay from fish in a tree but you will never change that uniqueness inside you.

Dear Lina,

My name is Harris. This is what I look like. Sorry about the bad colour. I am a ten year old boy who likes coding(making games and robots.) and sport(Especially soccer/football) I have five people in my family. My Mum, Dad, brother, sister and me. I have a pet cat.

I love the Hector's dolphin too. But I like their sub species the Maui dolphin more. I saw a dead Hector’s dolphin on my holiday in Whangarei. I have also been in a play. It was called fresh and smooth. It was about the life of to yoghurt pots. Sounds boring but it was actually cool. I was an albatross chick. My favourite part was pretending to eat smooth.

You said you hate pudding, jello, hot chocolate and custard. Same, apart from hot chocolate. In my opinion you must be crazy to not like hot chocolate. We do have marmite and vegemite. Which is better? You better say marmite because that's the NZ brand. Vegemite is Australia our arch nemesis. We bet them in the final of rugby. It was the first back to back world cup win and the first team to win three world cups.My favourite menu is, Entrée: chicken chips Main: Fish stew(favourite food closely followed by bacon risotto.) Dessert: Chocolate mousse.

My dream is to become a soccer player. I would be either striker, midfield or winger.(Those are attacking positions. Midfielder is an attacker and defender.) My favourite colour is turquoise.

We do have Starbucks but I don’t go there.

My favourite character is Albert because he’s a geek like me.

Khan Academy

Khan academy is a maths website. You can earn energy points for getting badges and completing questions. Here is a screen shot of my energy points.

The sea was like a deadly, never ending quicksand. “Look, over there,” one of the many men paddling the boat. “Its land.”

“Row, Row Row!” The men rowed as fast as they could. They landed and pulled the boat onto the beach.

But, in their hurry to explore and hunt they didn’t pull the waka the up above the high tide mark. The evening went on smoothly. All the women were preparing a fine dinner to celebrate and all the while the tide came closer and closer until one wave managed to pick up the waka and pull it out to sea. It took about 5 seconds before the women noticed there was no canoe.

“Where is it.” they all cried. Then the chief’s daughter, Wairaka spotted it. “There.” She called out. She ran to the waka and then noticed that the other women were not beside her. “Well, what are you waiting for the canoes floating away.

Reluctantly the other women followed. “Take a paddle each and row.” they hopped into the waka. All of a sudden they had no bravery. Wairaka started rowing. Another woman joined in, and another, and another until all the women were rowing. They arrived back on the beach and saw the men's faces. All the women cowered in fear, all that is except one. That one was Wairaka, she turned her back and carried on. That is the story of Wairaka and the waka.

Why are dogs man's best friend.

Why are dogs called man’s best friend? Why not cats, guinea pigs, birds, turtles, fish or even other men? It’s always been a mystery to those cat lovers. There are probably more cat lovers in the world than dog lovers so why do people still call dogs man’s best friend. Here are some reasons.

Dogs have an excellent sense of smell. It is so powerful that the police use them for smelling drugs and other illegal things. Some of their jobs with the nose involve tracking lost people and finding drugs in packages. Drugs and remnants of other burning objects then the dog is always trying to find the thing so they can get rewarded. They can smell scents from 1.5 km’s away.

Dogs are useful in the farm. They can run all day and not get tired. They can also run twice as fast as the fastest humans. Their main job is rounding up sheep and they do that by barking at them to make them scared and run away into the next paddock.

Some dogs are trained to be guide dogs for blind people. Guide dogs are like the blind persons eyes. What they do is make sure the blind people don’t walk into walls, make sure they don’t walk on the road and steer them away from things in their path.

Dogs also are used to guard people and defend their property from robbers. Some dogs will bite or hurt someone if their owners are in trouble. Unfortunately sometimes dogs have to be put into the pound if they bite someone or if it is a pitbull it has to be put down (killed).

Shark Attack

Fear shoots through me as a fin pierces its way closer and closer. It’s too big for a fish, too fast for a cloud, It’s a shark. I'm a goner I think. Killed on a paddle boat in the middle of the Atlantic. 10 meters, 5 meters, 2 meters, 1 meter, and then the fin disappears under my cruise. Where has it gone? I asked myself. Here. As if in answer to my question the sharks head popped out of the water. The shark started circling me. All at once the shark charged through the water again this time biting my board and taking a huge chunk out of it. I inspected the damage and found a tooth. It looked like this.A mako shark. I'm kind of an expert on shark teeth. “Come get me.” I yelled. But the shark was nowhere to be seen. “Must have got scared or hurt when it minecraft
